There are a few peculiarities about this uniform. First of all, the trousers for conscripts and short term career members of guard regiments are different from the normal breeches. These have belt loops for the brown double thorn belt (see pictures), so a belt could be worn in combination with a conscript shirt.

In addition, the chinstrap is different than normal. The older non-hard pastic extensible type was used to the end by guard regiment Feliks Dzierzynski. 

Finally, the material of the uniform is different from normal NVA Auf Zeit soldiers. It is made from Gabardine and not from woolly Streichgarn. Of course this uniform would normally be worn with Kragenbinder attached to the collar.
