Eine Uniform für jede Jahreszeit / A uniform for every season
Natürlich änderte sich die Art und Weise, wie die Uniformen getragen wurden, mit den Jahreszeiten aufgrund der Wetterbedingungen. Die NVA hatte 3 Wetterperioden: Winter, Übergang und Sommer. Jede Periode kann mehrere einheitliche Varianten haben.
Naturally, the way uniforms were worn changed with the seasons due to the weather conditions. The NVA had 3 weather periods: Winter, Transition and Summer. Each period could have several uniform variants.
🇬🇧 General:
- Members of the NVA (National People's Army) and the Border Troops of the GDR (Grenztruppen der DDR) in the Ministry of National Defense (MfNV), in the facilities directly subordinate to the MfNV, in the military command offices (Wehrkommandos), and in state institutions wear the uniform of the Land Forces (LaSK).
- It is was not permitted to wear visible or protruding objects (ballpoint pens, etc.) in the outer pockets.
- The following wearing periods for clothing are established: Summer period (So) from April 16 to October 31, Transition periods (Üb) from March 1 to April 15 and November 1 to November 30, Winter period (Wi) from December 1 to February 28/29.
- During the period from May 1 to September 30, the following must be worn in the People's Navy, the 6th Border Brigade Coast, and the border boat groups of the Border Troops of the GDR: the white cap cover for all ranks up to Captain at Sea (Kapitän zur See), the white cap or the side cap (Schiffchen), white, for female military personnel, the cream-colored cap cover for admirals, the cream-colored cap cover (officers), the light grey cap cover (admirals), the cream-colored cap (female military personnel), the sailor shirt (Kieler Hemd), white, for the walking-out uniform and the parade uniform.
- During the transition periods and the winter period, the shirt-blouse (Hemdbluse) may be worn inside buildings instead of the uniform jacket and the dress shirt.
- The City Commander of the capital of the GDR, Berlin, is authorized to determine how the uniforms of the honor guard companies (Ehrenkompanien) and other deployed forces are to be worn for the fulfillment of representative duties, based on the regulations approved by the Minister of National Defense.

* Offiziere und Musiker des VM Stabsmusikkorps trugen zur Gesellschaftsuniform einen cremefarbenen Mützendeckel.
🇩🇪 Anmerkungen:
1. Militärmusiker können eine Auftrittsuniform (Gesellschaftsjacke) tragen.
2. Die Auftrittsuniform für Militärmusiker kann bei Konzerten, Auftritten sowie zu besonderen Anlässen getragen werden und besteht aus:
- Gesellschaftsjacke, grau-grün (LuSK, LaSK und GT) und für Dirigenten weiß-cremefarben);
- Hemdbluse, weiß,
- Schirmmütze mit Kordel, silbergrau,
- Uniformhose,
- Binder,
- Interimsspange.
1. Militärmusiker tragen zur Auftrittsuniform einheitlich den Dienstgrad Fähnrich und die Repräsentationsschnur. Offiziere tragen ihren Dienstgrad und die Achselschnur.

- - Mess jacket, gray-green (for conductors cream-colored);
- - Shirt-blouse, white;
- - Peaked cap with cord, silver-gray;
- - Uniform trousers;
- - Tie;
- - Ribbon bar (Interimsspange)y.
3. Military musicians uniformly wear the rank of Ensign (Fähnrich) and the representation cord with the performance uniform. Officers wear their own rank and the aiguillette (shoulder cord).
